A Directory of Australian Manufacturers was established to disseminate information about historical Australian manufacturers and suppliers of tools.

The HTPAA is not connected to any trade groups or organizations, so information about current manufacturers and suppliers should be sourced by the enquirer from trade journals, phone books, libraries or the internet.

The HTPAA does not have a retail business so offers of tools from makers are pointless, as are requests to source tools or components. The HTPAA does maintain a collection of historic tools and welcomes donations of such.

The printed version of the Directory was published in 2001, and an electronic version has been available to search on this website for a similar period. The electronic version has been added to progressively, and now holds many more entries. The HTPAA thanks all those who have supplied additional information to add to the database.

Additional historical information is important to the Association, and it welcomes advice which adds to or extends the data available on Australian manufacturers, makers and suppliers of tools. Acknowledgements
