The HTPAA have begun an arrangement with Box Hill Institute (BHI) whereby the HTPAA Library of Tool, Trade, historical books and the Ken Turner donation will be housed at the BHI Library at Elgar Campus. The process of catalogueing, entry to the Library database and security striping is nearing completion.
Security striping, catalogueing, and other costs will be borne by the HTPAA. The City of Whitehorse has helped defray some of these costs through it's Community Grants Program and the HTPAA wish to thank the City of Whitehorse for their helpful grant.
The catalogueing was done by volunteer students in the BHI Library Studies Course, for which the HTPAA are very grateful.
In the near future, it is envisaged that HTPAA members who wish to borrow books will be issued with a library membership card on request. Some members will not have the opportunity to access the BHI Library due to work commitments, and the restricted library hours. To accommodate those unable to attend the Libray in person, it is planned that HTPAA members will be able to order books online and at General Meetings (currently held at Box Hill Arts Centre - BHAC) via a computer or tablet application.
Books so ordered would be collected by a duty member prior to general meetings and made available at the next general meeting for members to collect / return.
There is no option to have books sent by mail.
